The Philosophy Behind Turning 30
Turning 30 is not only an age celebration. It is a symbolic moment of maturity, responsibility, discipline, and purpose. For Ingashyi, it represents the time when young people reflect on where they have come from, where they are going, and how they can contribute to their families, communities, and country.
Paddling Patriots
Because Ingashyi means a boat paddle, the Turning 30 event calls young people to become paddling patriots. It is a call to move from one shore to another: from confusion to purpose, from dependency to responsibility, from silence to contribution, and from personal dreams to national service.
Why Turning 30 Exists
Turning 30 was created to build a culture of responsibility, mentorship, patriotism, and practical action among young people.

Those turning 30
To reflect on their journey, purpose, responsibility, and the role they must play in building society.
Youth under 30
To learn early that responsibility does not begin at 30. It begins with discipline, preparation, creativity, and action.
People above 30
To share experience, wisdom, mistakes, achievements, and practical lessons that can guide the younger generation.
Turning 30 is therefore not only a celebration. It is a platform where stories become lessons, experience becomes guidance, and inspiration becomes action.

What Happens at Turning 30
The annual Turning 30 event includes:
Storytelling and testimonies from people who have faced challenges, made bold decisions, built businesses, created impact, or transformed their lives.
Mentorship and intergenerational dialogue between youth under 30, people turning 30, and experienced leaders above 30.
Youth project presentations where young people share ideas that can create jobs, solve community problems, and support sustainable economic development.
Community contribution to support low-income earners and vulnerable groups connected to Ingashyi’s mission.
Recognition and support for young people who demonstrate commitment, innovation, discipline, and responsibility.
